FORGETTING to renew his disabled parking permit landed pensioner David Doran, 77-year-old admitted in court this week that he parked his moped in a disabled parking bay in Soham High Street when he did not have a disabled person's badge.
Writing to the court, Doran, of Benedict Street, Ely, said he had forgotten to renew his badge, because his vehicle had been out of action.
City magistrates fined him £20, with £35 costs and a £15 surcharge.
Assault trial date set
THE trial of Ely man Cornelius Smith is to be held before city magistrates on January 17.
Smith, 34, of High Barns, has denied assaulting Beverly Parker in Ely on September 29. He is on conditional bail.
