PENSIONER George Sykes denied a charge of assault when he appeared before Ely magistrates on Thursday.
Sykes, 72, of Bridge Road, Mepal, is alleged to have assaulted Andrew Lampert in Mepal on September 26 last year.
The court gave Sykes unconditional bail until February 22, when the date of his trial is due to be fixed.
