AS well as the parade and wreath-laying ceremony in Soham on Sunday, the town's branch of the Royal British Legion remembered their comrades in a short ceremony at the war memorial on Armistice Day, Saturday. At precisely 11am, just as the last post had echoed round Red Lion Square the party observed a two-minute silence.
Earlier in the morning, 19 guides and three leaders had carried out their annual service to the community by washing down the war memorial. The girls were rewarded with refreshments from Saucy Meg's, The Ship and the Red Lion while the Porto Café provided buckets of hot water.
