MEMBERS of the Over-60s Club met in the Walter Gidney Pavilion on Friday. Peggy Gibbon was pleased to welcome the Rev Alan Ashton to the meeting. The Rev Ashton gave an excellent demonstration of three different designs in flower- arranging using lots of green foliage gathered from his garden and a variety of flowers. Although suffering a chest infection he managed to keep up his usual banter with the audience. Ruth Ginn thanked him for an entertaining afternoon. The three arrangements were raffled during the meeting and the lucky winners were: Mary Ames, Diane Wheeling and Yvonne Long. Refreshments were served and Ruth organised the raffle. There will be no meeting next Friday as members will be enjoying a mystery tour. The meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the club hymn.
