Vice-chairman Ruth Ginn welcomed everyone to the meeting, which included Mrs Murfit. Mrs Gibbon gave out the announcements before introducing the speaker for the afternoon, who was historian Mike Petty. Mike gave a very interesting illustrated talk based on the Samuel Pickwick diaries with stories going back to the 1800s, about the horse-drawn barges transporting coal, flour along the Cambridgeshire rivers. Ruth Ginn thanked Mike on behalf of everyone. Refreshments were served and Vera Seal organised the raffle. The meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the club hymn.
