THE meeting of the club on March 9 was opened by vice-president Ruth Ginn. Vera Seal introduced John King, who had brought slides of an intriguing variety of places he has visited. These included Great Barrier Island in New Zealand, the Lake District, Yorkshire and Derbyshire as well as Devon and the United States of America. The meeting was well attended and the audience really appreciated the lovely slides John had presented. At the end of the show, Ruth Ginn thanked John on behalf of the members and Vera Seal organised the raffle, refreshments were served. Members were reminded that the tickets for the St George's Day lunch on April 23 are now on sale and £3 for members and £10 non-members. The meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the club hymn.
