MRS Gibbon welcomed everyone to the meeting on Friday afternoon before handing over to Vera Seal who had arranged the harvest meeting. Vera was pleased to welcome representatives from the Soham churches. Taking part with readings and prayers were Carl Wheeling (St Andrew's Church) the Rev Edwin Myers (Methodist Church) John Booth (Salvation Army) and Mr Ball (Baptist Chapel) Pastor Colin Stringer (Baptist Chapel) George Ginn (Methodist Church).
A short message was given by Pastor Stringer. Members all joined in for the singing of the harvest hymns, accompanied at the piano by Mrs Fordham.
A collection was made and a donation of £100 was presented to Mr Day from the Newmarket branch of the RNLI.
Ruth Ginn had donated a flower arrangement and this was auctioned. Iris Wilson from the Baptist Chapel thanked all the members who had donated to this year's shoe box appeal. Refreshments were served and Mrs Seal organised the raffle. The meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the club hymn.
