ON May 5, about 100 people met in the Pavilion for an excellent afternoon's musical entertainment. Star of The Good Old Days and many stage shows, Dottie Wayne started the first half of her show with a talk entitled 'a funny way to make a living'.
A selection of Dottie's tapes and CDs were on sale with part of the proceeds going to her favourite Cystic Fibrosis charity. Members and friends were reminded of the forth-coming lunch on June 9 to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday. Members £8 and non-members £9, starting at noon and followed by entertainment.
At the close of the afternoon, the grand raffle was conducted by Betty Lanagan. There will be no meeting on May 12 as members will be enjoying a mystery tour.
