VERA Seal welcomed everyone to the meeting on Friday. Peggy Gibbon welcomed Hilary Sage, a former member of the Cambridge Footlights. Hilary is a wonderful entertainer; members with birthdays in January, February and March were asked to select different subjects and she would relate a poem or reading. The highlight of the afternoon was her impersonation of Joyce Grenfell and the children, which was hilarious. Clare Gould thanked Hilary.

Peggy Gibbon presented Hilary with a donation for her chosen charity, which was The Arthur Rank Hospice. Peggy gave out the announcements, which included a mystery tour on Friday, May 11. Tickets were on sale for the St George's lunch. The meeting closed with the singing of the club hymn.
