THE meeting on January 26 was opened by vice-chairman Ruth Ginn, who welcomed members and introduced the ladies who were to entertain the members.

Rosemary Wheeler and Beryl Mckechnie. Rosemary gave their performance a flavour of Desert Island Discs by basing her choice of music on what she would take with her to the island. With Rosemary on the piano and Beryl singing, members were well entertained by a variety of songs and one piano piece. The choice ranged from Gilbert and Sullivan to a wonderful rendition of the Lord's Prayer West Indian style. The ladies are polished performers who were a delight to hear. Enthusiastic applause followed each of the pieces performed. Vera Seal thanked Rosemary and Beryl for their efforts and expressed a wish for them to return again. Vera Seal organised the raffle.
