Organisers of the Party on the Hill event, which last year saw former X Factor winner Matt Cardle play to thousands in Ely, have announced that there will be no follow-up show this year.
Posting on the event’s official Facebook page, a spokesman said there were “too many issues” to overcome to get the event on in time this year but promised they would be back in time for 2015.
Some of the issues raised on the page from last year’s event included a lack of variety among food and drink on offer, excessive queuing times, lack of accessible security or policing and lack of lighting for the arena itself.
Last year’s event, which took place in Ely’s Cherry Hill Park, in August, saw thousands of tickets snapped up.
Atomic Kitten, Matt Cardle, DJ Ironik and Blue all performed at the day-long extravaganza, with support from 90s stars D:Ream, Snap! and N-Trance.
But, despite a warm reception for the inaugural event, organisers say there was simply too much to do to get the event up and running again for this summer.
A spokesman said: “The truth is, too many of the issues from last year were insurmountable as the required changes and additions couldn’t come together on time.

“Support from the various agencies involved has been extremely positive but in the end it was a unanimous decision from all concerned.
“We have always stated that we were not prepared to put on a substandard event and to try and force one through this year would have made it exactly that.
“Thanks to all of you out there who have given us such amazing support. We are working on 2015 and on the development of some other exciting ideas.”
