Celebrated children's author Tony Mitton, with Louis and Mariesha at the grand opening of Ely St Mary's Junior School's new library.

Mr Mitton taught at the school in the late 1970s before becoming a writer, and returned on Monday to open the new state-of-the-art facility, and to read a selection of his poems to the pupils.

Head teacher James Hickish said: "The school is most proud of its new library - it now has a vast selection of fiction and non-fiction books and can be used as a classroom with its interactive whiteboard and computer bank."
