THERE is a rare chance to have a look behind the scenes at Ely Magistrates' Court on Saturday at a special open day event.
Members of the public will be welcome to take a look around Sessions House in Lynn Road, find out about local justice, and meet the magistrates.
"Visitors will be able to see the court rooms, the cells and other areas not normally open to the public," said magistrates' chairman Janet South. "Magistrates will be available to show people round, and answer any questions."
The open day will also be a chance to find out about what it takes to be a magistrate, how to apply and what is involved in the job.
The court will be open from 10am to 4pm. No photography will be permitted.
