TICKETS are now on sale for a one-off cinema screening of the Other Boleyn Girl, filmed partly at Ely Cathedral.

The Tudor costume drama will be the last film to be shown at Ely Cinema before The Maltings closes for repairs. A candlelit procession, complete with period music, will wind its way to The Maltings before the film begins, and a drinks reception will be held in the cathedral from 6.30pm. The film, starring Scarlett Johannson, Natalie Portman and Eric Bana, will start at 8pm and is on April 27.

The film has been adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Philippa Gregory, The Other Boleyn Girl tells the semi-fictionalised tale of sisters Anne and Mary Boleyn, who are vying for the love and attention of King Henry VIII. Extras chosen from among Ely residents rubbed shoulders with the stars during the three-day filming last August.

INFO: The Other Boleyn Girl Gala Night is at Ely Cathedral, from 6.30pm. Tickets, priced at £15 are available from ADeC on 01353 616991.
