AN Ely-based primary school teacher is aiming to raise £1,600 for Mencap by running the London Marathon.
Mencap is a UK charity that works with people with a learning disability and their families and carers.
Miss Cox, who works for Katy Denver Primary School in Downham Market, said: "As a teacher, I come across a lot of children with learning problems and have actually just secured myself a new job in a school for children with moderate learning disabilities. I also do respite care for a girl with severe learning disabilities and am well aware of the support that she and her family require. Mencap does such a lot to help in these cases and it is a very worthwhile cause."
The marathon will be on April 22.
