THE Soham beer festival held on the Recreation Ground raised £815 for the community service charities of Soham Staploe Rotary Club. The money will be used for local projects, including taking children from Green Hedges School on an annual trip to Wicksteed Park and providing prizes for the local heat of the Young Musician of the Year contest.

A steady flow of beer enthusiasts visited the Pavilion to celebrate England's triumph earlier in the day.
