IT did not take long on Sunday morning for the focus of our worship to turn to the faithfulness of God - a subject that frequently impresses us. He is our 'rock' - a safe stronghold, a firm foundation. We were reminded prophetically of the dangers of failing to keep Jesus in the centre of our lives. Holy Communion offered an opportunity to declare our intentions to keep Him there. The Pastor had recently returned from a visit to the USA and he shared some challenging experiences from the trip. He spoke particularly about a subject that is occupying our thoughts a great deal, the concept of community and the role of church in it.

In the afternoon, there was a baby shower for a new addition to the family. As well as good food being enjoyed by all present, funds were raised to provide midwifery kits for an African nation, to help ensure that babies there have a good and safe birth.

Sunday service is 10.30am and the speaker will be Alastair Gray, the Pastor of a sister church near Leicester. Crèche and Sunday School will be provided. All are welcome.
