ON Saturday evening, the Jubilee Gospel Trio gave a concert of Christmas music. Ron and Susan Greydanus were accompanied by Patrick Brandon, who also sang.

From the opening of Sunday's service, with a stirring carol, we truly exalted our God, through songs, prayers and readings from Scripture. Before long there was an almost tangible sense of the Lord's presence.

Irene Lipson spoke on Hanukkah, the Feast of Dedication, bringing out many challenging and inspiring insights relating to the Christian life. At the end of the service we prayed for one of our number who is moving away after several years in this church. This Sunday, we have our Christmas Family Service at 10.30am; about an hour of carols and other music, readings and drama, offering a chance to hear again the familiar and wonderful story of the nativity. The service will be suitable for all ages, young and old. Seasonal refreshments will be offered afterwards.

On Christmas morning there will be a short service at 10am (earlier than on Sundays) including Holy Communion. The following Sunday (December 31) our end of year service at 10.30am will include the pastor speaking on the prophetic role of the church and the individual believer in the age in which we live.
