Soham-born Olive Newton is the latest new face at Ely Rotary club.

Olive, who has lived in the area most of her life, having worked in Cambridge and ending up at Ely was inducted by club president John Dennick.

With retirement came choice of what to do, and Olive tried several different things and organisations, but found finally that she had an affinity with Rotary, with its charity and social activities, and its wonderful friendship.

She realised Rotary was what she had been looking for and wanted to join, after five-and-a-half years of indecision.

There is no doubt that Rotary can plug a hole, particularly after a working life then suddenly going into retirement.
