THE funeral of Olive Gilbey took place at Soham's Methodist chapel on August 30.
Mrs Gilbey, 90, died on July 29 at Arthur Rank House in Cambridge. She was born in Burwell and was one of seven children. She had lived in Soham for 67 years, latterly at Frank Bridges Close, and was an active member of both Methodist and Baptist Chapels and belonged to the Isleham Rendezvous Club.
She was widowed in 1976 when her husband Ernest died and was bereaved again in 1996 when her second son, Peter, died. She is survived by two sons - Martin and Dennis - and daughter Glenda together with eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren to whom she was devoted.
The service was conducted by Katherine Kyte and family mourners attended.
