LITTLEPORT man Lionel Taylor died suddenly in Hinchinbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon, aged 79.

Mr Taylor was a retired greengrocer. He was married to Madge for 59 years when she passed away in March 2006.

Mr Taylor loved to be around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very fond of all kinds of music. He worked with farm horses in his youth and continued to have a great interest in them.

He leaves two daughters, Carol Gillett of Littleport and Jayne Bridge of Providence, USA and eight grandchildren - Melanie, Martin, Emma, David, Becky, Jimmy, Janine and Matthew - and seven great-grandchildren: Holly, Jack, Lewis, Ellie, Jacob, Jessica and Brianna.

The funeral took place on October 15 at St George's Church, Littleport.
