DONALD Hull of Lawn Lane in Little Downham died at his home on September 5 aged 87 years. Donald was born in Little Downham and was an HGV and coach driver.
In 1938, he joined the Territorials and was sent to Ireland in 1940. Donald then served in India, Arakan, Burma and at Arnhem before being demobbed in 1946 and serving as a special constable for 14 years. He was a member of the Parachute Regimental Association, Cambridge 85 Branch and served as vice president and then chairman until ill health prevented him attending the meetings in 2004.
His funeral service took place on Friday, September 15 at 2pm at St Leonard's Church, Little Downham, led by the Rev Pauline Scott and assisted by Rob Booth. This was followed by internment at Little Downham cemetery. Donald is survived by his wife Norah.
