ELY mayor John Ison read the news for the benefit of the blind across the district.

Cllr Ison visited Fenprobe in Littleport, where he contributed to the organisation's 'talking news for the blind' service by reading articles from The Ely Standard.

His reading was put to tape and distributed to more than one hundred blind and partially sighted listeners across East Cambridgeshire - a service that Fenprobe carries out each week.
