A new inspector has joined the team at Ely Police Station.
Inspector Marcia Nichols has taken over the reigns from Inspector Paul Ormerod, who is taking up a temporary chief inspector’s post at Cambridgeshire Constabulary headquarters, in Huntingdon.
Inspector Nichols lives in East Cambridgeshire and is a former sergeant at Ely and Insp Ormerod said she already had a “good understanding of East Cambs issues”.
He said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working back in East Cambs over the past two and a half years, and would like to thank you all for your support and assistance during this time.
“I believe that we’ve achieved a great deal over that time across the district – seeing unprecedented reductions in crime and anti-social behaviour, the strengthening of partnership working, and increased levels of community confidence and feelings of safety.”
