SUTTON'S Glebe Community Centre will have a new landscaped garden thanks to the help of dedicated locals and a generous of more than £23,000 grant from The Heritage Lottery Fund.

Members of Sutton Youth Group, Sutton Parish Council, Sutton Garden Club and the Conservation Society have been planning the project since 2006 and will unveil their creation some time in the late summer.

Groups and residents who hire The Glebe Centre will be able to make use of the garden, which incorporates a grass area, patio, planted borders and a tree as a main feature which will be dedicated to a teacher who passed away.

Roger Wilson, Lead Youth Worker and Project Manager for the garden said, "This project will be a big boost to the community and the community centre.

"Hopefully this will restore the community to its former glory."

The grand opening of the garden will be in the late summer.
