A NEW gallery opened in Ely last week with an exhibition of more than 20 international artists' work.

The Angela Mellor Gallery, in St Mary's Street, will be open from Wednesday to Sunday at the site previously occupied by the Ronald Pile Gallery.

Angela Mellor, a ceramic artist herself, has recently moved back to England from Australia.

"I thought it would be a new challenge for me because I want to promote other artists, and we have work from Australia, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany," she said.

The gallery will sell and exhibit contemporary applied arts.

"I want to bring something new to Ely rather than what people have seen before," Ms Mellor said.

INFO: The Angela Mellor Gallery is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 10.30am-5pm and on Sundays from 2-5pm. Call 01353 666675 or visit www.angelamellorgallery.com for more information.
