MORE than 20 people attended a Christmas wreath making workshop at the National Trust’s Wicken Fen property at the weekend, creating some magnificent door decorations in natural materials.

Under the supervision of local basket maker Nadine Anderson, all the students made a sturdy willow ring, and then decorated it with vegetation found at Wicken Fen.

Isabel Sedgwick, visitor services manager, said: “It was a really successful day, everyone had a good time and it was a great occasion for getting in the festive spirit. Nadine is a great teacher, and everyone was pleased with the wreaths they made and took home.”

*Father Christmas is visiting Wicken Fen during the next three weekends. Some sessions are already fully booked, so phone ahead to ensure a place, on 01353 720274.
