A PUPIL at Rackham Primary School was handed the chance to be head teacher for the day after winning a school competition.
Reception pupil Nathaniel King, 5, won the chance to take control of the school at a fun-day last month and was only too happy to extend his class-mates break-time by five minutes in one of his first acts as headteacher.
Normal head teacher, Mr Sid Wales, said: "Nathaniel told me at the start of the day that he was a little bit nervous but also very excited and I think overall he very much enjoyed the day.
"He was able to do lots of things during the course of the day including typing out a memo to students, inspecting classrooms to make sure everyone was working hard and he even extended break by five minutes which was an extremely popular decision.
