A motorist was slapped with a Traffic Offence Report – which is likely to attract a penalty of three points and a £100 fine – after being caught by Ely police’s PC Guy Spencer and his speed gun.
The driver was travelling at 41mph along Cambridge Road in Ely – a 30mph zone – when apprehended by PC Spencer.
PC Spencer said: “We’re continuing to respond to the concerns regarding road safety and it should be common knowledge that the difference between 40mph and 3mph, in a pedestrian collision, is usually life or death.”
