A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured in a road smash on a major commuter route this morning (Wednesday, September 15).
The rider was in collision with a Volkswagen Passat in Cambridge Road, Stretham at about 7.50am.
He is said to be in a stable condition on his way to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge while the female VW driver is checked over for injuries.
Police have closed the road and diverted traffic along the B1049 Twenty Pence Road and the A1123 Wilburton Road, causing huge tailbacks stretching several miles towards Ely.
