ELY magistrates convicted 39-year-old motorcyclist Nicholas Samson of careless driving after a trial, having heard how he was involved in a road accident on the B1085 Turnpike Road at Red Lodge on July 30.
Samson was riding an Aprilia RSV when he went to overtake a car, aborted the manoeuvre and moved back into his own lane, and collided with an oncoming Ford Fiesta.
Samson, of High Street, Chippenham, was fined £300 with £349 costs and nine points were endorsed on his licence.
