Motorcycle-mad students at Ely College are getting to grips with a range of repair projects, thanks to a new Motorbike Club set up by biking enthusiast, Giles Cornell.
The team of Year 10 students, some of whom are aiming for careers in mechanical engineering, are all aspiring motorcyclists with a keen interest in how the machines work.
They are currently working on four bikes in various states of repair, and aim to sell-on those which they can make road-worthy. Other safe but less marketable bikes will be used by the team as training bikes at a dirt-track, where Giles and other instructors will provide elementary lessons in motorcycle safety and maintenance.
The club is keen to have more bikes to work on, and would gratefully receive and restore any barn-find bikes in need of some care and attention.
