MORE than 2000 people attended the Donarbon Recycling Open Day on Saturday making it the most successful event yet.

Visitors to the event enjoyed guided tours, children's activities, food and drink as well as being able to take home some free compost.

Donarbon's Mark Shelton said: "The feedback I had from those people I managed to talk to on the day and also the stall holders was tremendously positive. We have also received phone calls from members of the public who were really complimentary about what we do here. The site tours were popular and in the end we managed to take about 750 people around the 500-acre site at Waterbeach.
