'Lazy' insult led to fight
UPSET when his girlfriend accused him of being " a fat lazy pig", unemployed teenager Lawrence Cardwell bit her arms and punched her face.
Nicola Barton told police she thought she was going to die during the incident at their Soham home.
At Ely courthouse on Thursday, Cardwell, 19, of Hasse Road, Soham, admitted assaulting Ms Barton on April 25.
His victim was left with bite marks on her wrists, and bruising to her forearms and face, said prosecutor Matthew Bradbury.
"He now accepts there was a sustained fight, with slaps and punches and bites to the arms."

In a statement put before the court, Cardwell wrote: "I was upset at being called lazy and I over-reacted, by punching her in the face a maximum of two times, and biting her twice on her wrists."
Sentencing was adjourned until May 25.
'Harass' claim by taxi man
TAXI driver Carl Munday was furious when he was stopped by police for the fourth time in one night and refused to sign his speeding ticket.
On Thursday, he admitted breaking the 30mph speed limit in Lynn Road at Ely on December 16.
When stopped, Munday told officers: "You are harassing me" and said he would consult his solicitor.
Munday, 36, of New Barns Avenue, Ely had three points on his licence from a £60 fixed penalty for speeding the same night.
He was given another three points and fined £60 by Ely magistrates.
Assault charge denied
AN assault charge has been denied by 42-year-old Soham man Ricky Attlesey.
Attlesey, of High Street, is alleged to have assaulted Jennifer Chandler in Soham on March 18.
The date of his trial will be fixed by Ely magistrates on May 25.
