Day has also admitted using the car without insurance. He is asking Ely magistrates not to endorse his licence, and a special reasons hearing will be held on April 26.

SUTTON man Mark Lee was given a £110 fine on Thursday, when he was convicted of speeding.

Lee, 35, of Lawn Lane, drove a Rover car at 52 mph along Cromwell Road at Wisbech, where there is a 40 mph speed limit in force.

Ely magistrates ordered him to pay £42 costs and put three points on his licence.
