Witchford youngster James Farmer spent the summer collecting copper coins to help raise cash for renovation work at the village's St Andrew's Church hall. His efforts were rewarded on Monday when he won a prize of gift vouchers in the under-16 category for the most copper coins laid across the carpet squares in the hall. James, eight, was one of a number of young and young-at-heart who rose to the challenge to help support a campaign to raise cash to decorate and repair the hall and, hopefully, provide a new kitchen.
