DRIVER Alexandra Dooley flouted the mobile phone law right in front of Ely Police Station - and on Thursday was landed with a bill of £170 by city magistrates.
A vigilant officer spotted Dooley through the station window as she drove past with her phone pressed to her ear on October 18 last year.
Dooley, 46, of Kingsley Walk, Ely, admitted using a phone when driving her Ford Ka in Nutholt Lane.
"I have not used my mobile phone while driving since this incident, nor would I ever in the future," she wrote to the court. "On reflection I am relieved my actions did not result in harm to any other person."
Dooley was fined £135 with £35 costs.
