A 94-year-old woman who was reported missing from sheltered accommodation in Ely has been found safe and well.
Police said they found Kathleen Belfield in Camden, north London, at about 1.40am this morning (Tuesday) following a search operation involving the Metropolitan Police.
Kathleen, known as Kitty, was reported missing from Baird Lodge, a supported living home, in Lumley Way, Ely, at about 8pm and Cambridgeshire police immediately launched the force helicopter. An appeal for information from the public was also made.
Kitty was understood to hail from London and officers suspected she may have caught a train from Ely into the capital.
In liaison with officers in London, Kitty was tracked down and will be returned to Ely today.
