THE meeting of the Wives Group was well attended on Wednesday, January 17. Carol Gilbey welcomed everyone and gave out the notices. The speaker for the evening was the Chaplain to Horseracing, the Rev Graham Locking who gave a very enthusiastic account of his life as a chaplain. He became interested in the church at a very young age, going to college for training, and has since travelled to many parts of the country and enjoying meeting and working with people from all walks of life. He has enjoyed visiting and preaching in America and now has plans to visit Ireland. Members were invited to ask questions at the end of his talk. Carol thanked Graham on behalf of everyone and asked him to close in prayer. Ruth Ginn related a message from David Hall thanking everyone who contributed to the Christmas shoe box appeal. Refreshments were served and Carol organised the raffle. The next meeting is on Wednesday, February 21, when the speaker will be from Fenprobe.
