THE service on Easter Sunday morning was taken by a retired Methodist minister from Bedford and in the evening the music group celebration led the worship. On Saturday, the monthly coffee morning will be held and the April quiz sheets will be on sale; last month's winners were: Eileen Deer of Balsham (general knowledge) and local resident Valerie Savage won the cryptic section. The preacher on Sunday will be John Seaman of Wilburton.

Easter Sunday began with an Easter Breakfast, followed by the service, conducted by the minister, Rev Jim Mullin. David, Elizabeth, Alan and Eddie were the musicians. Ann led the singing. Joy welcomed everyone and gave out the notices. Happy Birthday was sung to Muriel and Sarah.

Jim began with reading from Isaiah and we sang. After prayer, George, Bill and Sarah took up the offering, whilst we sang. A video was shown of all the wonderful things Jesus did for us and how he died for us. Jim prayed for peace in the world. Gavin read the Bible reading, Luke 24 1 - 12 .

Jim told the story of Mary Magdalene, Jesus, the empty tomb and how Jesus was alive. Jim's theme for his sermon was the story through the eyes of Mary Magdalene of what had happened.

The service closed with Holy Communion. Stuart gave the closing prayer and we all said The Lord's Prayer together.

The evening baptismal service was conducted by the Rev Mullin when Bernie Cole was baptised.
