SUNDAY'S service was taken by the minister from Ely, the Rev Steve Watts with Audrey Hopwood at the organ and stewards were John and Mavis Middleton from Sutton. Members from Ely and Sutton churches were welcomed and the congregation was the largest for many weeks, the occasion being the christening of little Tom Starling of Witchford, son of Rachael and Neil; among the many friends and relations were Tom's great grandma, Mrs Ladson of Station Road, and his big sister, Amber, tastefully attired in pink. The minister adapted the service for children and Valerie Watts was in charge of an appealing video on screen and well-known children's hymns were sung to guitar accompaniment. Coffee was served after the service by Sheila Mackie Bailey and helpers.

The January lunch was served by Barbara Galley and her team and a warm invitation was extended to friends and family to come to the winter party on February 10. Advance notice was given that Mike Petty from Stretham will be giving his well-known talk on the '47 Fen Floods on March 23, it being 60 years since that event.
