THE church was filled on Sunday morning for the service conducted by the Rev Steve Watts; the occasion was the christening of Benjamin, little son of Sarah and Paul Eddleston of Huntingdon. Benjamin's grandma, Genene Trigg, lives in Haddenham and Sunday just happened to be her birthday. As well as big brother Toby, aged three, there were 10 little cousins and friends from as far afield as Preston and York, Stamford and March....and members of the congregation were delighted to see so many youngsters there. Beautiful flower arrangements were in white and purple and Puppet Sam was a welcome addition to the service. Stewards were Kenneth Riley and Ron Bloye and communion stewards were Mavis and John Middleton. After the service coffee was served by Sheila Mackie Bailey and helpers.

Tomorrow, Friday, the churches of the parish will unite at 2.30pm for the annual Women's World Day of Prayer to which all ladies are invited. On Sunday morning, the members of the Methodist Church will share a service with members of the Baptist Church at 10.45am; this idea has come about as a result of Ecumenical meetings; churches have much more in common than many people would believe and it proves the old adage "cooperation is better than conflict".
