SUNDAY'S service was conducted by the Ely circuit minister, the Rev Stephen Watts and the stewards were Betty and Kenneth Riley. It was a very special event as three children from Germany were christened. Their parents, Nicola, whose childhood was spent in Haddenham and Stephan, were accompanied by family friends including cousins Rachael, Mark and Neil Alsop who had attended Haddenham Methodist Sunday School with Nicola many years ago.

The minister introduced guitar-accompanied hymns and told a story via the computer.

The christening party then left for a family party at Willingham. After the service, coffee was served by David White and Eric Hopwood. A lunch followed, which was served by the ladies of the church and a discussion regarding the future of the Methodist Church and other churches in the parish. On Friday evening, members of the Shell Group will be preparing for their big day on Sunday when Ros Hollingsworth will take the anniversary service at 10.45 to which parents and friends are warmly invited to attend.
