SUNDAY'S service was led by the Rev Watts of Ely and opened with guitar-accompanied modern hymns; in contrast, this coming Sunday, the service will open with organ-accompanied Sankey hymns chosen by John Seaman, a local preacher from Wilburton. On Saturday evening at 6pm there is a chance to join others from the area in a Saturday Night Out at the Arkenstall Centre when musical items, fellowship and food will be available and a warm invitation is extended to readers. Barbara Galley, the local area organiser for National Children's Homes is pleased to announce that the sum of £480 was raised by the recent house-to-house collection in the village and extends sincere thanks to collectors and givers.

Advance notice: Haddenham Singers will be giving an evening of carols on sat December 16 when ticket sales will be divided between the Methodist Church and East Anglia Children's Hospice; on December 9, there will be the monthly coffee morning, quiz sale and cake stall together with sales of local books Haddenham Heritage and Haddenham On The Hill. A warm invitation is extended to young and old, newcomers and older residents to any of these events.
