GOOD to see young children in church for the past two Sundays. On October 29, the church was full with friends and relations for the christening of Eric and Jean Alsop's little granddaughter, Clara, whose home is in York. The service, led by Rev Watts of Ely, had a modern approach to worship with puppets and rhythmic choruses. This Sunday Jack, the little grandson of Barbara Galley, who lives at Upware, felt very important giving out hymn books and taking up the offertory. Also in the congregation was Genene Trigg's little grandson, Ben. This service was taken by Terry Day and readers were Betty White and Julie Day. Greetings were sent to two regular worshippers, Ivy Markwell, our oldest member at 98, who is unwell, and Joan Wood who is in Addenbrooke's Hospital following a fall. This Saturday, there will be the monthly cake stall and coffee morning and the November quizzes will be on sale; everyone is invited top call in and chat.

October quiz winners were: Margaret Did-Dell of Ely (general knowledge) and Barbara Hall of Histon (cryptic).
