The East Cambridgeshire Metal Detecting Society presented a cheque for £800 to the Soham Heritage and Tourism organisation, on Saturday.

Members of both Soham-based organisations were present to witness the chair of the detecting society, Hamish Ross, present the funds to the chair of the Heritage and Tourism, Charles Warner.

The Heritage and Tourism group’s latest project is a book detailing the experiences of Soham residents during the First World War, both in the military and at home.

If anyone has any information or second-hand memories of that time Charles Warner would be delighted to hear them.
