THE Met office has warned residents in East Cambridgeshire to be aware after reports that outbreaks of heavy snow would reach the area by the afternoon.

A deluge of snow in Hertfordshire at 10am is reported to be heading towards East Anglia and forecasters have urged residents to be prepared for potential heavy snow falls in time for the evening rush hour.

Around 2cm of snow is likely across Cambridgeshire with the Met office suggesting that there would be chance of up to 5cm in some parts.
