A cat from Little Downham has been crowned best household pet cat in the UK.

Biscuit, a seven-year-old ginger and white cat owned by Linda Hutchinson, was crowned by the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy.

The award was based on best in show titles won by Biscuit at cat shows throughout the UK between May 2014 and April 2015.

Biscuit, whose full title is UK Olympian Gold Imperial Grand Master Cat Biscuit, won the non-pedigree section and then beat the pedigree pet to win the overall household pet of the year title.

Mrs Hutchinson, who helps organise the annual Ely Cats Protection Show, said: “Pet cats are judged on condition, presentation, temperament and personality and it is on personality the Biscuit really shines. He loves the attention that he gets at cat shows and always likes to show himself off to the judges and audience.”
