BRITAIN'S best known former choirboy Aled Jones, who has become a successful television presenter, will sing with schoolchildren on May 7 when he performs at Ely Cathedral.

Aled, who won millions of hearts with Walking in the Air as a boy, will be helping to raise funds for the cathedral's Music Appeal during An Evening with Aled Jones.

Now a presenter with top television show, Songs of Praise, and with a No 1 album to his credit since relaunching his career, Aled will perform with the Ely Cathedral choristers and the Ely Imps, a new voluntary choir made of up children from the county's schools.

To celebrate Aled's visit to the city, the Ely Standard has teamed up with Ely Cathedral to offer tickets to the event in a fantastic competition.

Four lucky winners will be given the chance to see the performance, then meet Aled at a drinks reception in the Lady Chapel afterwards.

There will also be six pairs of standard tickets for the performance to be won.

INFO: Tickets for the event cost from £75 to £8 and are available from the Ely Cathedral box office on 01353 660349, by email at box.office@cathedral.ely.anglican.org or online at www.cathedral.ely.anglican.org and follow the link to Aled Jones.
