A drop-in event held by the mayor of Ely raised more than £900 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Volunteers from the Friends of Ely EACH, Ely Choral Society joined city and district councillors, the Ely Town Crier, Littleport Rotary Club, and local businesses to help Cllr Lis Every raise hundreds of pounds.
The event took place at Ely Cathedral Centre, on Friday, with visitors enjoying plenty of tea and cake while trying their luck in a tombola and raffle.
Cllr Every said: “The event was very busy and we welcomed local people and many visitors to a sociable day to consume large quantities of tea, coffee and delicious cakes and try their luck on the tombola and raffle.
“It was a real team effort and we are so pleased to have provided much needed funds for the work being done by EACH at the Milton’s Children’s Hospice.”
